The plain-English version

What is a pre-arrival cleaning plan?

A pre-arrival cleaning plan is a short written record a homeowner prepares before coming back to a home that has been closed or lightly used. It separates the date you arrive from the window you would like the cleaning in, and notes what you know about the home and who will let the cleaners in.

Request a clean

Two dates, not one

The most common gap in a pre-arrival request is a single date that means two things. "I'm back on the twelfth" can mean the home should be cleaned by then, or that the cleaning should happen that day. A plan writes both down: your arrival date, marked fixed or provisional, and the window you would like the cleaning to happen in. Keeping them apart makes the request easier to answer. If the arrival moves, the cleaning window can be reconsidered on its own, and nobody has to guess which date you meant.

What the plan holds

A useful plan notes whether the home is empty, a second home you visit, or lived in by someone else right now. It records the last-known condition: cleaned before you left, closed for weeks or months, or used by guests or family since. It lists the rooms to clean and the rooms to leave closed, names who coordinates entry along with any building, gate or parking rules, and notes whether you want one visit or a repeating one. Keys, alarm codes and gate codes never belong in the plan.

The return-home cleaning planner, linked below, gives you these headings on one page that you can fill in and print. Nothing you type is sent anywhere unless you choose to send a short summary with a request.

Rooms and surfaces

A plan can go one step further, room by room. Mark the rooms that matter most on arrival, the rooms to include if there is time, and the rooms to leave closed. Add notes for surfaces you know, such as a stone counter or a finish you already care for in a particular way, and list items nobody should move. The room and surface preparation sheet, linked below, is built for this.

Why unresolved items stay visible

If you do not yet know who will let the cleaners in, or whether your arrival date will hold, writing unresolved beside that heading is more useful than a guess. It shows exactly which question needs an answer before a visit can be planned, and it keeps a provisional date from being treated as a fixed one.

How a plan becomes a request

A plan is a planning document. It does not book a visit, hold keys or arrange anything while you are away. When you are ready, request a clean and include the parts of the plan that apply. Bravo Maids reviews each request and confirms scope and availability with you before anything is booked. For more on this service, see arrival cleaning in La Jolla.

Questions people ask

Is a pre-arrival cleaning plan the same as a booking?

No. It is a planning record you keep. A visit is only arranged after Bravo Maids reviews your request and confirms scope and availability with you.

Does the plan include checking on the home while I am away?

No. A pre-arrival clean is a cleaning visit. It does not include keyholding, home checks, stocking or property management.

What if my arrival date might change?

Mark it provisional. A cleaning window can be reconsidered when the arrival moves, as long as the two dates were written down separately.

Start with your arrival date
